Happy New Year, hope everyone had a great holiday, now onto the racing season.
At the 11-14-09 board meeting there was much discussion on how the points were handled last year. It was decided that we would split the pavement and dirt series points with two separate champions and no overall champion. Brandon will be in charge of the dirt series and Kirk will be in charge of the pavement series.
New board members were elected. Currently on the board are president, Brandon, dirt series, Kirk president pavement series, Secretary Diane Eklund, Treasurer Beth Dudley, and board members John Dudley, and Doug McLees. Joining them are new board members, Kelly Conner and Sonny Basher with Business Manager, Brian McLees. Please welcome our new board members.
A vote was taken to revise the head rule to read “any 23 degree cast iron head as cast”. INSCA and the Ephrata club also adopted this head rule. It looks as though all of the clubs are on the same page regarding the engine rules.
The board met again in December to put together a code of conduct page that is being added to the rule book. Also it was decided that all car owners will pay the $75 dues, and if they have a driver in the car that driver is also required to pay an additional $25 fee. In the past drivers, that are not the car owners have not been required to be a member of WESCO. If the driver does not pay his fee by the 2nd race, the dues will be deducted from the owners winnings. If you pay your dues by the last day of February the car will receive an additional 50 points.

We would like to give a special thanks to Craig Deaver for his involvement in putting the schedule together. Craig has put together a 3 race cast iron series with the possibility of 1 more. There will also be a points fund in place for the top 3 finishers in the series. An additional 100 WESCO championship points will be awarded for attendance at any CIS race. In addition we have secured South Sound as our home track for the 2010 season. Brandon is still working on the dirt schedule, and we will post it when it is completed.

May 1st Ephrata, CIS
May 15 South Sound
June 5 South Sound
June 26 South Sound, CIS
July 10 South Sound
July 31 South Sound
Aug 14 Yakima, CIS
Aug 28 South Sound
Sept 18 South Sound, championship
Please note the Cast Iron Series races will pay $1000 to win cash. The Purse structure and payout will be very similar to the Ephrata. The top three in points from the CIS races only, will receive a trophy and money from a point’s fund. The CIS races are for cars legal with INSCA, WESCO, WILROC, Ephrata and any limited dirt sprintcars which meet the rules of the aforementioned clubs.
For normal WESCO races at Tenino we try to increase car count. We will be granting grace races to those cars that do not meet the WESCO rules. If you have a car and you would like to race with WESCO we encourage you to contact us. Please note no WESCO points will be awarded to cars that do not meet our rules. However you will receive normal race winnings and trophies. Please understand we are doing this to increase car counts and on pre-approval case by case basis.
